The jazz-rock band Predmestje was founded in 1977 when Gruden, Hvale, Lah, Malahovsky and Pompe came together. The new band recorded their debut album, which was produced by Deco Žgur, that same year. Two years later they were joined by Dimnik and Jakša, and with the guest percussionist from Novi Sad the put out their second album Danes, včeraj in... (Today, yesterday, and...), which featured songs composed by Gruden and Pompe. By the time the band recorded their third album Hazard, which was produced by Braco Doblekar and Čarli Novak, most of the members had departed, leaving Pompe to record it himself with a new ensemble made up of members of the band Izvir. This line-up was frequently accompanied both in the studio and on the concert stage by the singer Neca Falk. Following the release of their fourth album, the band ceased activities altogether.
