Biography: |
Perpetuum Jazzile are the only jazz choir in Slovenia. The choir performs in a number of diverse combinations, presenting a wide repertoire of jazz harmonies, ranging from classic jazz and Brazilian Bossa Nova to funk, swing, gospel, close harmony and pop under the direction of conductor Tomaž Kozlevčar, who took over the artistic direction of the ensemble in 2001. Perpetuum Jazzile regularly perform with Slovene jazz musicians such as Ratko Divjak, Aleš Avbelj, Blaž Jurjevčič and others. The choir have received invaluable experience in performing jazz by attending seminars in jazz singing with Ward Swingle, founder and singer in The Swingle Singers, as well as at the jazz singing workshops of the International Choral Music Symposium, which took place in Ljubljana in 1996 and where the ensemble served as the demonstration choir.
