Compilation CD Eksperiment Slovenia

The Slovenian Music Information Centre – In the new compilation Eksperiment Slovenia, SIGIC presents the creative work of some of the most recognised and most engaging artists and musicians in the realm of experimental music, alternative music and free improvisation as well as sound art, who left an indelible mark on the Slovene culture in the last few years.


Slovenia in the Spotlight at the Waves Vienna Festival and Conference

Between 2 and 5 October the Austrian capital will host the third international music conference and festival Waves Vienna. The annual event brings to Vienna many musicians, agents, music publishers, concert and festival promoters as well as media and business people from around the world.


Presentation of Slovenia at the international forum Classical:Next

SIGIC is taking part in the international professionals forum for classical and art music in Vienna Classical:Next, which is taking place between 29 May and 1 June. SIGIC organizes the Slovene stand at the fair at the Viennese MAK – the Museum of Contemporary Art.


SIGIC's press conference about new projects and publications

SIGIC presented its new projects and publications: release of the compilation Eksperiment Slovenia and publication of the pocket music guide Listen to Slovenia; participation at the international forum of classical art in Vienna Classical:Next; this year's Waves Vienna Music Conference and Festival with focus on Slovenia; start of SIGIC's workshops.


Perpetuum Jazzile attacks Stožice - the largest venue in Slovenia

Perpetuum Jazzile (PJ), Slovene choir which performs a cappella arrangements of popular songs and compositions of various genres (pop/jazz/folk/gospel/classics) is celebrating 30 years of its existence with performances displaying its traditional vocal extravagance on a tour of Germany and the United States.


21. 3 - European day of Early Music

On 21 March, the first European day of Early Music will be organized by REMA (Réseau Européen de Musique Ancienne / European Early Music Network) in order to bring this music to a wider audience.


Europe in Music Festival

The festival featured works by composers from all EU countries. Uroš Rojko was representing Slovenian music.

Druga godba Festival has again been selected by British magazine Songlines among the 25 best festivals in the world.


This year’s Prešeren Award Ceremony

Among this year's recipients of the highest Slovenian award for achievements in the field of culture are three opera singers.


Vito Žuraj, first-prize winner of Stuttgart composition competition

Ensemble Modern performed the awarded works of the competition at the opening concert of the ECLAT New Music Festival in Stuttgart and among them the prize-winning composition by the Slovenian composer Vito Žuraj.
